The Missional Church is defined as a biblically faithful and culturally appropriate, reproducing community of disciples sent on mission by God to advance his Kingdom among all peoples. We affirm every Missional Church regardless of the ministry style who supports the BFM and ecclesiastical guidelines. Our goal is to assist missional leaders and churches through the
Missional Network in identifying effective methodology for biblically
faithful churches to reach people in culture. What is Missional? Missional is the adjective form of the word missionary and has been an approach utilized for decades. Missionaries learned long ago that to reach a people group for Christ, they would need to understand the community and it's culture. By understanding the natives' beliefs, traditions, and values, they could eat, drink and talk like them. Then they were better equiped to share the love of Christ within the context of the natives’ culture. A missional leader thinks like a Missionary—understanding the culture, leading biblically faithful and culturally relevant churches, and thinking in missionary ways about their contexts. They share the conviction that the local expression of the Christian faith must be culturally relevant to the people that it is called to reach. What is the Missional Network?
The Missional Network is an online and relational community of ministry
leaders connecting and sharing ideas, challenges, resources, and best
practices to improve effectiveness in sharing Christ, sending missionaries and
starting churches.
