The Missional Network was created at the request of the Missional Task Force. In late 2005, the North American Mission Board developed a task force of fourteen influential young leaders from across the United States and Canada. The task force’s members represented a diverse range of ethnicities and church paradigms. Early on in this engagement process it became apparent that age was not the defining issue that united these leaders. Instead it was their shared calling to create Missional churches in the ministry areas that God had called them to reach. The task force became The Missional Task Force and met over a series of months to continue the dialogue. Among their many recommendations, the Task Force asked NAMB to create a relational community for Missional leaders to share files and ideas online and at multiple gatherings.
